LEGISLATIVE DRAFTING

The Firm has through its Commercial Department and in a consortium with other players been detailed to review certain regulations which were later promulgated as Subsidiary Legislation. The Firm has redrafted and reviewed various pieces of legislation and rules.

The Firm also provides periodical review of new legislation to existing clients especially when the legislation affects the operations of the client’s business.

The Firm was engaged by the Rwandan Government through the then Rwanda Tea Office to draft the regulations for the tea sector.

In addition, the firm has undertaken Regulation Impact Assessment of legislation such as Unclaimed Financial Assets Act as part of its mandate in legislative drafting or regulatory impact assessment. The Firm has been involved in convening stake holder conferences as part of public participation.
