Perpetua Mwangi, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, holds the position of Associate in the Firm. She is also the Head of the Intellectual Property Division of the Commercial Law Department.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She also holds a Masters of Law degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Cape Town.
She has experience and interest in Intellectual Property Litigation and has defended or prosecuted matters before the Registrar of Trade Marks. She has also reviewed and drafted assignments and licenses; reviewed and advised on various Intellectual Property and Related agreements including franchise agreements, distributorship agreements, non-disclosure and non-compete agreements.
She was the Lead Counsel in the Geographical Indication case involving Basmati that was amongst the first litigation on Geographical Indication in Kenya.
She is currently an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators-Kenya Chapter.
