Maruti Khamala is a Partner in the Firm and heads the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. In addition, he also heads the Insurance Litigation Division in the Firm. He has depth and experience in the vast areas of legal practice which include but are not limited to Civil Litigation, Debt Recovery, Insurance Claims and Family and Probate Litigation, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Employment Disputes, Land Disputes just to name a few.

He has been involved in various landmark cases covering the various judicial bodies including the High Court, Court of Appeal, Tribunals and Arbitrators. He was the Lead Counsel in the famous Weetabix v Manji Food Industries case where the Courts for the first time in Kenya established the protection of a family of Trade-Marks in Kenya. He has successfully acted for international Corpora-tions and Kenyan Public in employment disputes. He also renders advice to the Commercial Department and Conveyancing Departments on complex and high-risk transactions. His approach to service Clients and especially with regard to disputes is to resolve the dispute and add value to the Client the Firm is representing. He also continues to mentor young and upcoming Advocates. Currently, he is a Trustee of Hekima Center.

 

Maruti is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Notary Public, Commissioner for Oaths and a Patent Agent. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Moi University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
